![]() How long can properly smoked fish such as bluefish & striped bass be kept in the refrig before going bad ?

![]() If you vaccum seal it well it will easily last 2 weeks in the refrigerator and easily 2 months in the freezer. I usually smoke herring and mackarell and they last easily for a month in the frige. As long as you cure the fish properly you shouldnt have a problem.

![]() Thanks for the reply. I did some bluefish about 4 weeks ago & the remaining pieces became moldy. Apparently i tried to keep them to long.

![]() After brining it helps to air dry your fish before smoking, also the fresher the fish the better the results will be for both taste and longevity. I feel that it is best eaten between 7 & 10 days. If vacume sealed 2 month
is the longest. But I feel it starts to lose it's goodness after 1 month. Hope this helps |
