![]() Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Think I'll probably try the back of Raritan bay for some big choppers.
- Harpoon, did not see your email come through, maybe you could PM me. Agree with all about watching the weather. My very first priority is his safety followed closely with him catching, no matter what it is. I know the way to get him hooked is for him to have fun and catch. Cheers and thank you. |

![]() I take my oldest sons (5 and 7) fishing a lot. This time of year we mostly go for fluke, but in spring and fall they have both caught some nice stripers. My recommendation (if the blue fish don't show) would be to hit some structure like Sandy Hook reef, Rattlesnake area or Shrewsbury rock. Drift for fluke and you will probably find some seabass too. And remember if you are 6 years old a dogfish is not a trash fish - it is a SHARK!
