![]() I dont know - I have to check the schedule and on the schedule - its not like they give you the actual run..
They just tell you on that day - which county... Like on Friday - pops has a sussex run and he can tell by the number of fish next to his truck if he is doing a major stream or a bunch of the small streams. Each day is different - most likely the streams are getting there first dumping of fish. Second week more lakes usually get stocked than rivers and the third week its a mix of lakes and streams. Preseason stocking is different from regular stocking weeks. Example - the flatbrook may get 12000 trout for preseason stocking - but they dont stock it like the do a normal friday stocking run. It will get three trucks on different days and those three trucks will only stock a section upper / middle or lower. And when that is the case - they will make less stops and dump more fish - because the fish will have a lot of time to spread. Same usually applies to the other brooks. Also - some brooks may also get float stocked in some parts. Lower Paulinskill I think still gets to float from time to time. That is not a norm, that is something that is preplanned. Weather is another factor - if access roads are too muddy - trucks wont go down in fear of getting stuck - judgment call Brookies are a fickle preseason fish and hug the bottom especially when cold. That water temp really affects those fish but the one thing I can assure you - the streams get plenty of fish. |
