Default Albies

Running in Bay near Ambrose yesterday we found a huge school of albies willing to hit our 007 & 017 jigs. They were working schools of rain fish and breaking all around the boat. My two nephews went 8/9 on nice sized fish in just over a hour.
Lotsa' fun on light tackle. Most albies we ran into over the last few trips were very finicky.

They were all over the Sandy Hook Rip today. The beach at the tip was packed with surf casters. We had them boiling alongside the boat in the afternoon but they were not interested in anything except the pinky-sized rain fish that were everywhere. 007's, 17's, split tail minnows.......nothing interested them.

That was my experience for the last few trips. Albies breaking water with rain fish "showers" all around the boat but they wouldn't take a 005, 007 017, Deadly Dick or Split Tail Tsunamis. It was very frustrating until Friday when we got them for over an hour.

Talking Re: Albies

You had to get away from the other swarms of boats to hook em yesterday. Too many boats driving through the schools all day. We found pods of them north and south and had em all to ourselves!!! I nailed quite a few on the Deadly Dick in green. My buddy's whacked em on the epoxy jigs!

I was fishing off the beach yesterday. Some crazy action early in the morning then slowed down. Need to get a boat lol.
