Miss Belmar - EXCELLENT FISHING & BONITO SLAUGHTER!

Friday afternoon was our last afternoon bottom fishing trip for the season. We had absolutely beautiful weather but the fishing was slow. We saw them on the fish finder but we couldn’t read them. We ended up with some porgies.

Saturday morning, we headed out east of shark river inlet and anchored up along the edge of the mud hole. It only took a couple of ladles of chum and we had the mackerel flying over the rail. We had excellent fishing along with plenty of bonito and albies. Overall, it was a great day of angling!

Sunday morning, we fished out east again. We had bonito and albies right away, however, it took a little while to get the mackerel to bite but once they did, they came into our chum slick and we held them all day with blues. Spearing worked best if you wanted to fish bait. Ava 17 & 007’s worked best if you wanted to jig. If you like bonito, this weekend has been the best bonito fishing we have seen in more than 20 years!!! We slaughtered them all weekend long!
