Default Pro spot burning

Hey guys, not looking to start a spot burning fest, I'm just looking for a little friendly guidance. I'm taking a family friend (82 years old) out of highlands tomorrow and wanted an up-to-date report. I typically fish fluke in South Jersey so aside from running around the hook, I'm not super familiar with the area. With the rain we've been getting, are the Shrews/Nav rivers out of the question? I'm only running a 22', so running offshore in anything but glass isn't going to work with my older guest.

Please feel free to PM me. i appreciate it.

fluking has been pretty tough for the most part, fish are around but seems like only really experienced guys are staying on them consistently. One day we'll get number but not size and another day we'll get a real nice one or two but only a few fish total all day. plenty of porgy and sea bass to fall back on though i guess haha

Thumbs down Re: Pro spot burning

Tried the Navesink and Shrewsbury this morning using Gulp, jigs and killies. One decent bite on a white Gulp that never got to the boat. Nice day however, weather wise.

Crabbing is awesome in the rivers - tastes better than anything you can get from the ocean.

Tin Can Grounds off Rockaway is loaded with porgies. I had my niece & nephews there on Saturday. A chum log & clam bait resulted in drop and reel fishing for porgies. If conditions are OK, it's not a bad ride from AH?
If you can drift, you'll get fluke there too.
