A brightly colored NOAA law enforcement pickup was in Atlantic Highlands Harbor today, did not see any officers belonging to truck. ????

Someone should have mistaken the front seat for the rest room.

Great, thats exactly what we need, more "law enforcement" while boating and fishing in the NY Bight...

Lets see , we have The USCG,

The respective DEC patrols of NY/NJ, depending on which side you are fishing,

the county sheriff marine units on both sides ,

the state police marine units both sides,
and now NOAA....
I must be wrong headed, because there are many among us that still feel this is a GOOD thing, and I still don't see it that way at all..
How did we EVER manage years ago, without all these dedicated public servants " watching out for" us?...

Sorry my friends, but in my admittedly cynical mind, this just reeks of a further increase in surveillance..
I personally fear for the future of recreational salt water fishing .. bob

With so many fishermen bragging or even just implying
on open public online forums about how they are planning on breaking the law, sure I would expect see more enforcement this year. Loose lips sink ships, or this case, keyboard strokes fu** folks.

They are 100% monitoring fishing sites.
No doubt about it.

As for Manasquan Inlet and the river, I would expect the State Police Boat and Coast Guard Boat that patrol that area, ( Everyone has seen them), as well as those in Barnegate Bay, where you also have the local PD boats, will be checking. Along with being summoned for violations, they can also seize your many dollars worth of fishing gear if they so choose to.
