![]() Hey all, I have fished spinning gear all my life but I'm interested in getting a baitcasting setup. I'd like to keep the price as low as possible, but I'm open to anything really. Any tips/tricks/info you have for me would be great seeing as I've never fished one before! Thanks!

![]() Daiwa Lexa 300 or 400 is your best bang for your buck. I use a 300 for everything we do inshore plus its a great fresh water reel as well.

![]() I'm with the rest on the Lexa, no complaints at all... just housed a 12#ish tog yesterday on it... the only other one I would say to get for some particular reasons would be the Penn 975 star drag ... that mfer has been with me for 15 years and only needed typical maintenance, minus a few things that could have easily been avoided by proper care- that was all user error...>me... let us know what you get... or any other ?...s
