Default 3/1 and 3/2 Flounder and Bass

Here's a "before the cold weather" report when I got out March 1st and 2nd.
Fished for flounder on the 1st at Shark River and some fish were caught. I was able to get 1, but 1 guy on the dock had four which was pretty good for that day... Most of the guys fishing on the dock were patient and got one or maybe their two. Water temp was 43 degrees, so that should be a good reason why it was a slow pick....

Next day went to a spot down in Bay Head for Flounder. Outgoing tide and sun out. Five minutes into downing a worm, my rod almost gets ripped off the dock. Knew what it was most definitely. Caught 4 more Bass for about 2 hours of fishing, up to 21". Cool thing was I caught them on very little hooks and caught a double header.... No flounder, but that was fine..... Nice two days to just get out....

Nice report. Makes me wanna pull the boat cover in the worst way! Mother Nature being her bitchy self though.

You just dunking worms? or clams/mussels too? Chumming off the dock or no? Decent size flounder?

I can't tell if this helped, but in Shark River I dig up bloodworms, sandworms, and tapeworms (safe kind lol) and I usually keep the mud as a "chum". It's very smelly, so seems appealing to use. Can't tell if it helps yet haha....

Yeah, I was using tapeworms, bloods, and sands I dug up. No clams or mussels. Fishing at Shark River on I wasn't chumming but some guy was with mussels..... At Bay Head, I was just throwing the mud out.... The flounder at the river were 12-16".....
