Default Friday

Long story short, 55 miles covered, one ten pound fluke, one two foot week.

Long story: I netted two dozen nice mullet on my third throw at the Liberty State Park launch. Snappers under birds by the Statue of Liberty. Small blues & Miss Belmar by Romers, Flynn's and down along the beach of Sandy Hook. Nothing out in ocean. Anchored by The Fisherman but I was not prepared for porgying, none for me but others caught well. Not much by Breezy Point or Coney Island Flats. Tried a couple of drops by Norton's, finally got the big girl on one of the last live mullets. Made the day. Big weekie under the VZB, more snappers at the SOL. Long nice day on the water, pretty good swell. Lots of Coast Guard activity in the Lower Harbor. The SI Ferry had a two boat escort. Armed escorts.

For me to get a fluke from NJ back to Jersey City, I must travel through NYS waters, so I'm a poacher. But that fluke will be a lot of dinners for me & the Mrs.
