I'll be out there brother. are u in a small boat? going to swing out of the east/ NE so bring Dramamine if u need it. fishing turned on yesterday and today big time so unless the East shuts it down which it tends to do, should be decent. good luck

My father overnighted way east thurs into today. Awaiting word from him with baited breath. There was 4-5 degree break where he headed with reports of rampant life. We'll see if he scored.

Update: he got one 60 lb yellow, 8 tiles to 15 lbs and was often covered up by 12-15" yellows, skippies and bonita. Lots of life but nothing large chewing waaaay east. Good luck out there.

left the dock at 7am and were at the first pot at 12:15.wind was steady at 15mph we were only getting short shots the mahi.1st pot we had 9 and it went
up and down from there.we hit 30 pots and ended up with 76 mahi from 2lb up
to 26lb.it was around 7pm and we headed for the tuna.we started our first drift
around 8-8:30pm and all was quite.lot of life with whales and porpoise everywhere.not allot going on anywhere from the radio but at around 4:30am
we have our first bite, landed a 65lb yellowfin.15 minutes after that we have another run off but never come tight to the fish. now the sun is coming up and
we have all the life around us again but no bites.then a run off, peep sets the hook and game on.after a 15 minute tussle the fish swims right to the boat and its a huge mako.i have seen 300 plus makos caught and this fish was much bigger.it come right to the boat and then jump clear out of the water and dives under the boat cutting the line, wow what a show.all gose quite again
and right before the capt is ready to head in we have a run off on a shark bait that was put out after the mako bite.the peep is on this fish from start to finish.35 minutes later the mates leader a big hammer head.quick pics and the
shark was set free.great trip for me as I was back in the canyon and all others on the boat were happy too.yes we wished we could have caught more tuna but we all know that august canyon chunking is hero or zero fishing.can't wait to get back out and try to even up the score.

"weres the pics" when ever anybody posts a report.i myself don't need one more fish pic in my home.when i go fishing i go fishing.check out the ns pb out of point i'm sure they will have the pics.when the fish are bitting the very last thing on my mind is a"pic".
