Default Paramount Marathon Ling Fishing yeesterday

Got on one of my favorite boats in NJ got there early & it was still packed. I got to fish with the Topeka Boy as well it's been a long time but it was great to be out with him again. I had to deal with the big crown but I managed 16 Ling & 1 keeper Flounder & 1 short flounder the first one I ever got offshore plus a few short Sea Bass. The Topeka boy had similar catch as well. Everybody on board did well & went home with a nice bag of fillets. There were quite a few people who were fishing too light you got to fish with at least a 8oz minimum or better sinker. Plus all those fancy rigs just plain hooks I can understand the beads but some of these fancy rigs are just tangle makers.

Ling may not be that much fun to catch but they are some of the best eating fish in the Ocean. Yummy. Way to put the new rid to good use

My best day ling fishing was with just a basic one hook rig....very annoying dealing with tangles from fancy rigs

Smile Re: Paramount Marathon Ling Fishing yeesterday

Catching 25-30 Ling on a trip, with my limit of flounder tossed in for good measure, and maybe a Cod. I use a two hook rig and I personally believe anything more than a colored bead is probably just scaring the flounder away.

Red Gulp!
