Awesome night in the back bay.

Hey guys quick report.

I was slated to hit the canyons this weekend but we were cancled due to weather. To fix my itch to fish I decided to do a little night shift fishing with my big brother in the back bay of OC. We quickly netted an assortment of live baits consisting of large mullet, spots, peanuts, and even a few pinfish and planned to try for a trophy August bass. We didn't get our trophy but man did we get a lot of action, between the two of us we landed 6 stripers to 36", 5 bluefish all around 3-5lbs, and 1 weakfish which measured 26" not bad for a 6 hour trip. All fish were safely released to fight another day. We did a lot of moving around as we needed to work different areas with the tides we had and being on foot it's essential to fish the right place at right tide. Looks like we should have a sizable mullet run.

I had a few left over mullet and decided to try for some fluke in the bay this morning, no love, not even a short... Looks like they are making there way out.

Can't wait to do it again!
