Big Jamaica 8/18 Report

Fishing was good again Thursday.
On our first stop we caught some small blues and some small weak fish not far from the inlet. Next trip we anchored up some mackerel sea bass and fluke. But a good bite never developed.
We made a move several miles to the north and went on a drift and we caught mackerel, fluke, and sea bass.
Mackerel got so thick they were biting the baits right on the surface at times. Anglers were catching doubles, triples, and even quadruples.
The pool winner was:
George Chilmonik from Bethlehem PA with a 5lb fluke.
It looks good for tomorrow and the rest of the weekend.
If you want to bring the kids fishing or a novice fisherman, this is perfect, as there is plenty of action and the fish are easy.to handle.

The big Jamaica is sailing at 7:30 a.m. every day this week for Bluefish, Mackerel, Sea Bass, ling, and Fluke.
NIGHT trips sail for Blue Fish on FRIDAY, and SATURDAY nights at 7:30 p.m. this week.

Afternoon Family fun trips for fluke and sea bass will sail Sunday through Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. till 8:30.
We had a lot of action on our last Family Fun trip with fluke and sea bass and on the Fishing and Fireworks trip last Thursday.

Fishing and Fireworks trips sail Thursday at 5PM.
