Default Fluke bouncing back 7-25

Ran out with my cousins after the storms passed today. Stayed local because it was already 1030 by the time we hit the bay and I didn't want to get stuck far from home with that south wind that comes up every afternoon. Finally some keepers decided to chew along with tons of shorts. To begin we fished the reach with too many shorts. Ran up onto the flats off of Staten Island and we managed 4 keepers and probably 15 shorts in about an hour and they decided to go home and get out of the heat. Kinda pissed they didn't want to stay out longer as we had good fishing but I guess we had enough for lunch and that was all they wanted. All fish were caught dragging long strip baits, bunker bluefish and squid. Pictures will be up when they send me them.

I jigged my ass off and couldn't buy a bite, these fish wanted meat today no pastic. We managed 22 shorts most of which were 17-17.999999 and 4 keepers 1 at 18.25 2 at 19 and my cousin Noah that never saltwater fished before got a nice one measuring out to 24 inches hitting just over 5 pounds on the hand scale.
Finally some keepers, last Wednesday and Thursday we fished hard all day for 3 keepers each day. Maybe with the full moon gone some keepers will continue to chew
