Default Striper limit question???

Why is it that when a party boat posts a pic of 60 dead bass on the deck people lose their minds but when ten different six pack boats post pics of six man limits, also 60 dead bass, people are congratulating and praising their effort?? Although I don't typically keep bass because I don't like the way the taste, I have no problem with people keeping one for the table. I just don't understand the thought process of some people.

I say everyone on here should play catch and release for the entire season.

Should this also include the commercial fisherman?

Pass the popcorn, here we go.... I guess I will need to be watching this one People's emotions seem to be all over the place on this subject so a real lightening rod post here.

Some people take offense to deck shots and others don't. Some of the same people who take offense to Striper deck shots don't seem to mind when it's Fluke or Seabass or Tuna. Or one guy pictured with his personal limit compared to a bunch of fish which happen to be several people's limit.

Nothing wrong with keeping your legal limit or catch and release. To each his own.

How about the pics of a few guys fishing, and having well more bass on than allowed.
showing 2 or 3 bass per angler in their deck shot.
and def not fish over 36" let alone making it to the 43" to have the second fish per guy.

.
Thinking some guys dont know the limit changed, nor that there is no longer a spring bonus tag.

While those pics didnt last here long( not sure if removed by Gerry or the orig poster)
Its happended more than once

Not me removing them, likely people calling it to their attention and them seeing the err in their ways

I think it has a lot to do with it being spring and knowing the migration is made up mostly of big females. At the same time, if I payed big bucks to charter a boat I'm keeping everything I can.

Most of us were guilty of deck shots and piles of dead fish. The best shots are action shots of individual fish. Showing a pile of dead bass with the capt. and mates catch included is not a good idea. It is tough to get action pics. and take care of your charter at the same time. My suggestion is to make an effort. I learned alot from Dave May who took the shots for the Asbury Park Press. He did a photo shoot on my boat and what beautiful pics. we had. It is the same for all fish from tuna to fluke.
