Default First trout of the year

So although I like going out and fishing with buddies, opening day style just isn't my cup of tea. The crowds and just the way some of the people act in my past experiences has put me off. So I always go out the Monday after and today I had the lake to myself. I decided to still sleep in and got to HC at about 11. Everyone thus far has been saying powerbait has been the way thus far and it was windy so thats how I started. After 45 mins, being the impatient bass fisherman that I am I said screw it. Picked up the 5 foot ultra light, waded in and started fanning the spinner. First few casts I had a couple bumps but no hook. Took a good 15 mins til I got my next hit and he hit it good. Love fishin the 5 foot ultra light because atleast I get a bit of a battle. Few mins later I hooked my 2nd and last of the day. Both fish were small, about 10 inches or so and were released. A lot smaller than the fall stock where the smallest I was pulling out was 16. Both fish were on the trusty Mepps Agila in rainbow thats been in the family a good decade or so. Beautiful day besides the wind and nice to get the first trout of the year.
