![]() Okay I guess it would be good to keep a few more blue fish and hop on one of the head boats for some mackerel. Muscles marinara sounds good too.

![]() Bluefish
Nutrition (per 3 oz serving): 105 calories, 3.6 g fat (0.8 g saturated fat), 51 mg sodium, 0 g carbs, 0 g fiber, 0 g sugar, 17 g protein Protein (g per 3 oz): 17 Omega-3s (mg per 3 oz): 655 Mercury levels (parts per billion): 350 "These fish are strong and aggressive, which is why lifeguards are taught to remove swimmers from the water when they see any signs of bluefish feeding frenzies. During these frenzies, bluefish will continue to attack and eat anything in their way even after they’ve eaten their fill. (Sounds just like what happens after you eat these 24 Foods That Make You Hungrier.) This overeating is most likely the reason that bluefish have a fairly high mercury level. Because of the medium levels of mercury, be sure to consume this fish in moderation, but when you do, it’ll give you a great source of omega-3s and lean protein." Even though stripers are people's favorite target, blues should be kept as often or even more often than bass. Look at all of the Nutrition!!!!! And if you don't like the taste of the dark meat, cut it out and eat the lighter, whiter meat! If the gator is bled and on ice, it is so delicious!

![]() Eat too much escolar and you'll crap your pants. It's an oil fish. The oil in its flesh is comparable to that God forsaken product olestra which potato chips companies used for a short period of time to make their low fat chips. It's no longer used because it legitimately caused balloon knot leakage and/or atomic rhhea for those who consumed it. Same deal with white tuna... or as I call it, ghost tuna. Ya end up pale in the face from dropping epic poundage looking like a ghost!

![]() For bluefish, you cant get a better fish to smoke - and the oilier, the better.
Soak it overnite in sugar brine and cold smoke it - better than smoked whiting and smoked whitefish. |
