![]() Wife and kid free on sunday.
Have not fished in a while and want to get out. My question is Lake Hopatcong for panfish or Round Valley in hope for trout? It's going to be a land based trip. Not real familiar with either lake Any advice or recommendations appreciated. Thanks!

![]() If with wife and kids than I would go to Hopatcong. In my opinion that would be a safer bet to catch some fish. Head over to state park and enjoy.
RV could produce as well but you'll have to get there early enough for a better chance to get into one. My two cents Andre |

![]() Sunday looks windy. I agree lh with kids but be aware there is still ice all over in some spots. Though I noticed lakes end marina area was totally open today looked like.

![]() Wife and kid free, meaning no wife or kid. I'd say walking the shoreline of RVR is better option.

I am thinking get RV bit alway worry about the wind there. I did hearof a good shore based trout bite as well as a good perch bite on LH.

![]() Depends, how important it is to you to catch fish. I'm past the need to catch fish so I would go with the more challenging but more rewarding rv. Also would have in mind that you can catch panfish 365 days a year with it only getting better as it warms up. Rv on the other hand will get more challenging to fish from shore as the water warms making this time of year prime for looking for trout from shore

![]() oh i thought you meant the wife and kid were free to come with you haha.
check the wind direction if you go to rvr sunday cause it might be blowing and you'll want it at your back i would think. the panfish bite from the bottleneck shore sections of hopatcong is pretty fun, but you could get a big old trout at rvr! ![]()
