Default friday on the down deep

fished the down deep marathon blackfish trip today. also on board were our fearless leader gerry, his good looking brother joey, tim (sven), adam (dfish) joe the plumber, down deep regulars wa and rich; and last but not least the shrimp. was greeted in the morning by dense fog...so we made a slow ride to the grounds (right joey) got set up and keepers were coming over the rail. conditions were not the best and we couldn't sit right but there was action all around. joe the plumber was locked in with the bigguns. nothing monsterous but nice respectable fish. made a few more drops through out the day picking at keepers here and there. doggies were present and caused some issues. by days end we had close to a 9 man limit with some doing better than others. good time as always fishing with these guys.

things i learned today
1) don't touch joeys crabs or his cooler
2) gerry really knows how to set the hook on those pesky rocks
3) shrimpman is not chubby and can catch fish in montauk
4) sven dropped a big fish twice on the OE
5) Down Deep is a class operation and i will be back

Tough anchoring conditions but still a decent bite. I had 4 and a ton of shorts. I think Joey the fish and the plumber had a limit plus and ALS was high hook.

Thanks Captain Rob and Anthony for taking great such great care of us. The Down Deep is a great platform for Blackfish. Very roomy and fishes 10 comfortably, nice big cabin to get out of the weather and she sits real nice on the double anchor.
