Default Cabo

Just got back from a week in Cabo with the wife and son. It was more of a much needed relax and recharge vacation, but we did get a day to fish. I chartered a panga for 5 hours and we set out at 6:15 am. We started trolling for Mahi up towards the corridor for the first 2 hours. Had a few Mahi's jumping out of the water but no hook ups. We made the move back down towards the Pacific side to look for some roosters. Well this was a true hands on experience because the Capt. had me driving the boat more than a few times. Needless to say my nerves were slightly tested as we trolled just outside the breakers along the beach. We trolled up and down for a few hours with 2 roosters caught and released and we dropped a nice Mahi when the line parted after a nice aerial display. My son did all the reeling and it was awesome coaching him through the process. Both father and son had a great day and a lifetime memory.
I was told by Capt. Sergio the fishing has been spotty because of the El Nino. The warm water has been pushing up towards California and now So. Cal is getting much better fishing than normal. I don't have my pictures yet but hopefully this link will work.

Sounds like you got some much needed rest and some time with your family Marc. Some nice Roosters there. I've yet to catch one but they are on my bucket list.
