Default keyport seahawk - nice toggin

well we started off this blackfishing season better than we ended last year...this time we weren't sold 5 dozen weeks old rotten crabs, so that was a good start. Thanks to Fred's Bait shop for some good crabs!

10 minutes after anchoring on our first spot I would proceed to then ruin my black fishing trip by hooking an absolute monster that i literally could barely inch by inch up off the bottom with the drag almost locked I horsed it out of the rocks and then my brain crapped it self and i just never stopped horsing it. I just kept forcing it for no reason at all, i just never stopped 'get it out of the rocks' mode, even though it was probably 3/4 of the way up when i ripped the hook out of it's mouth...bye bye giant blackfish!

John picked up my slack and started pulling in some keepers and a bunch of just shorts before he snapped his rod in half snagging the bottom...I then started getting some shorts and small keepers before i hooked another nice one that pretty quickly cut me off on some sharp rocks...i bottled up all my rage and i'm planning on letting it out at a later time.

anyway it ended up being a decent day, slow pick, but good keeper to catch ratio (and many 14-14.9 inchers) 8 tog for john with 3 keepers including 2 really nice 17-18 inchers and 6 tog for me with 2 keepers and a spikey dogfish plus a lost togzilla to give me nightmares for the rest of the winter
