Default Fish & Game

Was out today on a party boat, not normally do that but with the wind HONKING today we decided to get on a big boat. Glad we did! Fishing was pretty good. The crew of the boat were very good. Thank you.

I'm still a bit fuzzy on why a New York Fish & Game boat boarded us but I am GLAD they did! They are doing their job and I applaud them! From what I know there was a summons issued. It's time to see more of F&G on the water.

I know there are going to be replies on this post!

Heard there was another party boat gaffing SHORTS! So I'm guessing that F&G is on the prowl for shorts. Again, I'm glad to see F&G out there!

Let's face it, the bass need our respect! They can't last forever!

If you were boarded by NY officers, you had to be in NY waters, so they boarded the boat before it "got away", back to the other side of the line. NJ officers usually get the boat when it returns dockside.

Got boarded by NYSDEC on Sandy Hook Reef..
The Rules have changed...they have Authority everywhere, even in Federal waters..

We were in/ between the channels and on our way to the dock when the boarding happened.

WHY are you worrying ? If you are NOT doing anything wrong...

That boat cost a million+. No joke.
Super fast all welded aluminum rocket ship that burned a big load of fuel just going back to NY. 3 NYDEC officers plus the NJ Fish and Game guys that wrote a ticket for a slot fish that apparently was legally landed but technically illegal because the tag was not attached to it, so I've heard.
The law is the law and we all must obey it or pay the consequences but this whole deal begs the question: is this the best way to spend tax payer dollars? Would this military grade vessel with top notch everything be better used to counter drug trafficking or terrorism than an errant slot fish? Is this vessel out in the often dangerous and miserable conditions offshore monitoring the activities of the commercial draggers and doing random spot checks with the same tea totaling counts as today? (I suspect not.)
The math doesn't add up to me.

They boarded numerous boats in the Reach today that were mostly jigging. Didn't see them board a trolling vessel or a party boat!!
