Default Naversink channel markers pulled out

I was just informed by a friend who has his boat in Red Bank that ALL the channel markers in the river have been removed. Has anyone here heard anything about this, like why?

They are removed every year so they don't get taken away by the ice in the river.

I know that they are taken out for the winter, but isn't it kind of early for that? Water temps still in the fifties.

They don't go by water temps, they go by date assigned. When schedule is made up who is to say what the water temp will be?
