Smile Fishing Liberty state park/Jersey city area

I've been trying to find closer fishing spots that are salty and being able to fish 20 minutes from my house would be intriguing. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on tips/locations. I'm trying to get back into surf/shore fishing and would love to add a local spot I can fish at night. Thank u in advance

Is Global or MOT accessible from shore anymore? I last tried, unsuccessfully by the way, Spring of 2002. Chased from Global.
Have fished from a boat a few times since.
I grew up fishing those shore areas, a lifetime ago.
Things have changed and waters remarkably cleaner.
Tight lines,
T.

liberty park is great but closes at 10

exchange place pier is good but parking sucks

hoboken has several piers but once again parking is tough

staten island is full of quality fishing is you are willing to drive a bit more- you can actually stand on sand and fish in the shadow of the verrazano 24/7
