Default Small Craft Advisory for NJ Coast until Sat. 6:00pm

So....given this, is it even worth hauling the boat down to Atlantic Highlands and try to drift the bay? Was originally planning on going out deep ocean-side, but the forecast has me reconsidering.

Thoughts?

Right now it is NE 13-18 knots. Seas are 1.6' every 3 seconds.
Noaa isn't always accurate with their predictions.

I usually look at. www.ndbc.noaa.gov this is the current wind and waves. If you click on northeast on the lower right on the screen, it will bring you to the buoys off the coast. Hit the yellow diamond for the buoy and current conditions come up. If you click on details in that same box for the buoy, it will give you past conditions. They are off our coast a bit but a good reference.

And now the wind is ENE 19-20 knots and the seas are 3.9' @ 5 seconds.

Not boding well for tomorrow.

Some of the charter boats already cancelled for tomorrow. Sunday looks like the best day out of the weekend.

Yep...but tomorrow is my only fishing day, so I'm trying to decide if its worth drifting the bay...would be fine behind the hook and in the back bay, but not going to catch anything but short fluke and porgy.

If you NEED to fish tomorrow, you're best bet is to spend the money and jump on a party boat. Get there early and get right on the bow.

The forecast for the Keansburg part of the bay looks unpleasant. Depends on where you want to go, boat size would matter. It improves as the day goes on.

Headboat might be the way to go.
