Default Ductwork 9/1-2- Limits of yellowfin and mahi

Had Mike, Felix, Dennis, Kevin and Jared out in the deep overnight Tues. Started out on the troll looking for the right life to get set up and chunk on. Unfortunately the whales were very scattered and the normal marks I see late evenings just weren't there...just some bait deep. Trolled til 10 or so with no joy on the bigeye. Set up on the chunk and had fish under us and on right away. Tons of skippies and small yellowfin mixed in with them. The guys jigged up somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 to 40 yellowfin and countless skippies between 10 and 3 a.m. Fish were 20 to 30lb class fish but on lighter tackle, guys had a blast. Put a limit of yft in the boat by 3. Had sharks attacking the hooked fish at times and ended up releasing one 250lb or so dusky on a 20lb spinning outfit that somehow got hooked in the fin with a jig. Pushed up the line at dawn and found a large weed patch that had hundreds of mahi under it...chunked up our limit of nice mahi in about a half hour before heading for the barn. Another great trip with a great group of guys.
