Raritan Bay Fluke - Sunday 9/23/15
Since low tide wasn't until 8:15am yesterday, we took our leisurely time hitting the water (7:30). Headed out with my buddy and his 13-year-old nephew. Fished the West Bank, Romer's, Flynns, Swash, Reach, Ambrose and Sandy Hook channels.
Tally for day: Short fluke - stopped counting after 40 of them. Keeper Fluke - 1 @ 19"....caught by the kid Sea Robins - around 20 or so.....all in the deep water Cownose Ray - 1, came close to spooling the reel....had fun playing with that one for about 20 minutes, almost took the kid over the side when we handed him the rod. Waked by googans while drifting - 13 times, idiots running full throttle 100 feet from our stern. There ought to be a law. Couldn't find the keepers, the bite was pretty steady on both bait and bucktails/gulp, but died when the water went slack. We headed in around 4:00. Great day of fishing, even if not much for keeping.

Re: Raritan Bay Fluke - Sunday 9/23/15
We fished some of that same area Saturday didn't have half that action but the little we did catch was a lot of keepers (6/20). Strange conditions and no consistent bite. The rays are always fun though.
