Default Rockets and pigs

started off fishing for the line snapping rockets with mike. If we went over them they hit until about 11:00 then off like a switch kept marking but not a touch. Mike kept us on target til feeding time was over but I guess even ravenous beasts have to take a break to digest now and then haha. 11 rockets total boated with 2 snapped lines. Fish up to 24 1/4" but mike has that pic of him holding it on his phone.

We saw two floaters near the ramp on the way out. I'm assuming gut hooks over handled, saw a lot of guys soaking bait. Just cut the line don't rip the insides out. Use circle hooks or better yet keep moving and hit them quick, all trolled fish lip or inside cheek hooked.

Next I had a chip on my shoulder and was on the hunt for a pig. Long story, let's just say I'm over competitive haha. Anyway went out with my buddy armed with some new fly patterns I made up. After hours with nothing and talks of switching spots I switched to a pattern that I dubbed silver surfer and quickly nabbed a small bass while applying less action to the fly than normal, that was the ticket as I added a nice 16 incher and the pig I was looking for! A bronze hog just a hair over 20", 4.5 lbs.

Goal accomplished, we picked up and changed gears, moved to go for some trout. Next lake had some active rainbows 15' depth but no real size to them. So we park over some deeper 40-45' marks and my buddy slipped one of my homemade swimbaits on a jig and dropped it down. A few jigs and Rod doubled over! My buddy lands an absolutely gorgeous very pink 18" bow! Unfortunately still waiting on that pic as its on his phone, but here are some rockets and a pig!

There is a lot of shore fishing going on right now. During the weekend, there are so many people camped out along the shoreline at night it looks like the night before a new Apple-product release.

When you have dozens of people sitting around in near darkness waiting for their rods to start bouncing out of the rod holders, you are going to get a lot of deep-hooked fish.

I actually caught a rod and reel the last time I was up at spruce night fishing. It was a garbage combo with like 30 lb mono on it, over sized snelled bait holder hook attached via snap swivel, and a 2 oz sinker. Who fishes like that?!?!?

Nice catches Chris. Some good fish for sure
