Default Any advice for kayak fishing in the Outer Banks?

I know its probably not the right forum for this, but I figured I'd throw it out there to this community anyways.

I'm heading down to OBX, NC for a week, I've been going there my whole life, but this will be the first time I'm bringing kayaks to try and do some fishing. Going to Nags Head. I figure the sound will be good, and might try some shore fishing. Wondering if anyone here has any advice for me, thanks!!

I'm happy the attacks finally subsided. End of June/beginning of July had way too many shark attacks down there.

The sound shark free. Check in with the bait and tackle stores. You need to get a lisence any way. There should be Trout around the bridge abutments. They'll take small jigs with cUrlyntail trailers. Could be Redfish will be around. Good luck.

You can launch at Ocracoke right near the where Highway 12 ends at the ferry. There's also a sand road a couple of miles or so from the village. Some excellent sea trout fishing in the shallows near sunset. I guess that's all opportune, but they're in there.

Thank you all for the advice. Ocracoke is over 2 hrs away from Nags Head so I'm going to look into the Roanoke Sound and Croatan Sound as they are the closest to where I will be staying. If I remember correctly, theres a public launch on Route 64 near the Whalebone Tackle. I'll check out that shop and get some local tips.
