Default Tog in the canal

Hit the canal yesterday for a few hrs. Plenty of bites and fish. Nothing over 12" but still fun on light tackle. Ran out of bait and headed home. Fun few hrs for sure.

Any updated info on the bite in the canal? I was going to try it for a few hours tomorrow, since I'm taking the kids to the beach.

I went down last week and got 4 nothing over 12". Went this week and got the skunk on blackfish but did catch a surprising 13" seabass that was released.

I know the blackfish bite is on the slack tide, what is the differential of tide from the manasquan inlet to the canal?

No bites today, went before the beach @ 8am current was ripping, went after for a little bit @ 4, current was little slower, but no bites. Had to keep it close to the wall. I know time to go is slack tide, but time did not permit.
