Default Montauk recap

Day one. Was up two minutes before the alarm at 3:12 AM Friday. Showered and hit the road. Was in montauk at 6:45. Made great time. Pulled out of the inlet at 8am Friday

Out on a private boat with Johnny tomatoes. Fluking was pretty good. I had six keepers to five pounds with a handful of big angry shorts. Let's not forget the bucket full of 3-4 pound biscuits. Very good day. We topped it off with an excellent dinner at wok and roll. This is a hole in the wall Chinese place. Their motto, you hooked we cook em. Great dinner with a fresh catch.

Saturday was a charter for bass and bottom fish. A very well know boat and capt whom I've been fishing with for over 20 years. The stripers were hard to find for the majority of the fleet, but not for us. For the second time in as many weeks I got a 40 plus (42 to be exact). Once again I would have let it swim but the other members of the charter are once a year fishermen so we took our limit of seven, five fares plus capt. And mate. The fluking was off from the day before (looks like it wasn't great here back home either). Still we got a bunch of sea bass and a few fluke. The weather was beutiful both days and I had a great time.

On Friday one of the guys we fished with is a very accomplished guitar player. He had a gig in montauk at the tiki bar saturday night. I stayed to watch the first set and it was worth it as I didn't realize how good he was (I have video but don't know how to post it) I headed home 830 saturday night, was home at midnight. I am definitely gettin to old for this!

Now it's time to focus on trips on the DS for August jersey fluke!

Here is saturdays five pounder

Saturdays 42 pounder. Once again, if you've never fished montauk, it's worth the trip and for more then just the fishing.

I wish I could put a small clip of the scene at the tiki bar

Capt Jamie of the miss montauk will put you on the fluke. He will also stop and jig for striper if he sees them while steaming. I know as he has done it with me on the boat.
