Default Late Report Eastmans Fipps Pollack CRUSHING

Last Friday I had a group Charter with Eastmans fleet. Originally it was supposed to be a 3 AM to 8 PM trip to Platts for Haddock, Pollack , Cusk but Captain Phil said he would take the 18 I had signed up for this trip to Fipps

LEGITIMATE NUMBERS

Close to 1200 Pollack for 18 Anglers

We had 3 hours of Non stop double and triple headers

It was SICK

Not posting the names of the Anglers because I doubt any of you would know them. A few of you know me

Great fishing. So roughly 500lbs per man @ an average 8lbs (?) per fish. Wonder what you do with 500lbs of fish? Is there a commerical aspect to this? I don't know what kind of regs on selling there are up there. Not trying to make trouble, just curious.

I will help Educate you

There are NO Limits on Pollack retention and I did not weigh the fish but most guys walked off the boat with well over 100 lbs of fillets each

I don't know about you but my family could easily eat 100 pounds of Pollack in a year. I want to go fishing up there. I have a wedding over Labor Day in Maine I may have to stop there on the way home.

Im not opposed to filling the freezer with fish, been a few years but I do remember Green Harbor when there was no cod limit and double headers were common. In general of course its the commercial guys who deplete the stocks far more than recreational fishermen. There are many good sized fish in the pictures but also some really small fish, just curious, do the small ones get tossed back if they are unhooked in good shape?
