Let me begin by saying the entire Dorothy B family was deeply saddened by the news of Al Abramson's passing. He was a gentleman and always was a pleasure to have on board. Our deepest condolances to his family, he will be missed.
This past week saw some good fishing when the conditions cooperated. Our marathon trip was a success in spite of zero drift for the better part of that morning. We were in deep water and the lines were straight up and down. You could bucktail with a 1/2 ounce jig in 70 ft of water. Later in the day the breeze and tide had us moving nicely and the catching was good. Tons of action with a smattering of ling and sea bass and a good amount of keepers for the day.
Big fish of the week honors goes to Bill Fisher who nailed a 8.5 pounder on the first drift of the day Saturday morning. Victor also had one 5.8 lbs that same trip. Other pool fish have been from 6 lbs to 4 lbs. There are some big fish in our bay along with plenty of "jumbo shorts" It grinds my gears on a daily basis that we have to throw back nice fat fluke that you can buy at the fish market. I can buy it but I can't go catch it myself? B.S.
OK, rant over. Come on down for some good fun, summer is here and the time is right!
See you on the dock.
