The Curse

So anyone who has ever gone fishing with my old man knows him by his nickname of "the curse." He never catches anything, and usually no one else does when hes around either. Also someone (usually him) usually ends up getting sick or hurt...We took him Salmon fishing in Pulaski 2 years ago and it was the only time I didn't catch a fish...3 days of nothing. I can't remember the last fish he caught.

His birthday was this week and I offered to take him out on my boat for a little fishing. We picked up some shiners and headed out to Cranberry Lake. Got the boat in the water but something was wrong with the fuel line and I couldn't get any fuel to reach the motor. After 45 minutes of trying I gave up and drove down to Morris County Marine to see if we could figure out what was wrong and what part I needed only to find they closed 15 minutes before I got there. Frustrated I drove over to Wal-Mart and bought a whole new line. Got back up to the lake and finally launched. At this point half of my shiners are belly up in the bucket. We fished for 30 minutes until his asthma and allergies kicked up and had to go back in. As I was unhooking the trailer from my car my hand slips and I sliced my hand open.

I at least managed to land a 14 inch pike and a 20 inch pickerel. In his usual fashion, "the curse" caught nothing and got sick.

Tough times. Lots of good reports from Aeroflex lately. Electric motor only, could cut down on at least half the frustration.

So far I've been skunked every time on Aeroflex. Ive done great on Cranberry with pickerel and crappy this year. Havent hit up Swartswood yet this year, any good reports from up there?
