Default Sailfish still biting....even while bottom fishing

Went bottom fishing today as we wanted to get some fish for the table.....While jigging for bait, saw a sail free jump....took a 5/0 circle hook and rigged it through the nose...dropped it over and it was game on....they are like bluefish down here....tried to get away from them , but no luck. Went to another spot and did manage to bottom fish. Great day......sure wish I knew how to post pictures.....Pete

Pete you poor thing I could never imagine having to deal with all those pesky sailfish. But just like the blues it's probably nice to have something that always salvages the day.

Safe trip,

Steve , thanks for the clam order, do you want me to shuck them , or just leave them whole....Still down here in Cancun , but I am looking forward to getting back to the real world.....I do not want to go into details about the fishing down here, but you were right about if it bites ....it dies...ha..ha....I know for one thing , I have to learn how to post pictures, Bottom fishing has been very good , and the sail fishing is the best I have seen in quite a few years....Catching them with a light jigging rod and an Avet ,MXL sure is a lot of fun, as well as spinning tackle.....Looking to open the shop about the first week in March...Hope to see you all soon....Pete
