![]() I am considering a move from crystal point yacht club to a slip on the glimmer glass in manasquan.....the thought of being so close to the inlet is very attractive. The downside of the glimmer glass is dealing with the Brielle road drawbridge? I don't know how much of an inconvenience the bridge is? And if it ever got stuck in the down position u are stuck in the glimmer glass with no access to the ocean. I would also lose some of the amenities of a bigger marina (ie plenty of parking, bathrooms/showers, security cams & night time security guards on site etc...) I also know the streets near the glimmer glass can flood (thru the sewers) with a high tide, no fun saltwater on the streets. anyone willing to share their experience of keeping a boat in the glimmer glass? Thx so much!

![]() Nope, you will not fit, I've been through the Glimmerglass several times on my buddies 26' Regulator without any opening issues. But not enough times to give any solid advice. When I tournament fish out of that area I bring my boat "36' Topaz" down from Keyport to Southside Marina for the tourney and birth it at southside marina. I was right next to Jerry on the Fishmonger for MakoMania.
There are no bridges to deal with and the fuel hoses reach every boat. Owners name is Pickles. Good Luck with your research. http://southsidemarinanj.com/

![]() This bridge has been closed to cars for some time. I haven't heard lately what the plan is about when but it is to be replaced in the near future . The problem is $$$$$$$. They don't have it ! So at least for cars this bridge is closed . It makes getting around in Manasquan a pain. I would take this under consideration or at least get more info.

![]() Do you want a slip or amenities? Full moon high tides flood the street for a short time once in awhile, it's true; but it recedes quickly. There are sport fishermen along Perine which fit under the bridge easily. During the season, the lifts are on the 1/2 hour. There is easy access to your boat from your parked car or truck. Almost 100% of the boats are run by dedicated fishermen. Paddle boarders and rental yakers can be a nuisance. CO's often patrol the area by car. There's no carcass disposal into the water permitted. The water gets skinny outside of the channel but there's plenty enough in the channel. The channel at the bend leading to the river gets skinny at low tide and the sticks are sometimes chopped off later into the season and aren't always visible at high tide. It's well-protected in a NE blow. Convenient access from the car to the boat, security, short run to the inlet, no RR bridge congestion, fishing environment, etc. make it a good choice. Each of the docks/marinas is like a small community. Good luck.
