Default Sunday Blackfishing

Broke Shark River Inlet on Sunday morning, and man was it nice.
Steamed south, anchors came tight and no life. Lobster guys were pulling the pots around us and didn't see any togs in the traps; not a good sign. Capt decided to try up north. I Had a couple keepers and a few shorts before seas got bad and called it a day. I would say we prob traveled 35 miles in all. Capt Burke did his best to find fish, but sometimes that's the way it is. Billy the mate worked his ass off all day. Also Capt. Burke took care of everyone when we got back to the dock because he was discouraged with our catch. Stand up guys all around on the Mad Gaffer. First time sailing with them, I hopefully will have a chance to do so again next year.

Thank you for the honest evaluation of a hard working boat that takes putting it`s customers on fish seriously. I wish everyone had realistic expectations.

I hope that's not the case but I did hear some good and bad.
If I have to cross him off the list I will, just like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Thanks for the heads up. That's why I like talking with you guys, most seem very honest.

Billy is by FAR the best thing about that whole operation. Ray is a nice guy and good fisherman but maintenance is not his forte. Fire extinguisher empty, head disgusting, boat held together with chewin gum and bailing wire. But gotta give credit they catch fish! Just imagine if he had a REAL Reliable boat!
Again Billy most able friendly mate I've run across in YEARS.
Good Fihin in 15 all
