Late Blackfish Opener Report
Got out yesterday on my friend Roy's boat for the opener along with Jeff J. Headed down the beach in first light to make sure we got to the reef early and set up as the sun was coming up.Had good action during the morning on green crabs and put together a good catch early. I think I had my limit by 10:30 which was good considering I was getting nothing during a good portion of the afternoon.
Big crowd out there yesterday at the reef and the rocks. Glad the wind never came up as they previously predicted and it was a nice flat day out there. We ended with our boat limit, and then some, but we didn't keep them all. Nothing big but decent fish with quite a few 18 and 20"ers. Quite a few shorts also. Let the season begin!!
