If your a fishermen in NJ and don't know who this man is than you must've been living under a rock. The man is a legend in NJ fishing. Although I didn't know him personally I was blessed enough to have the opportunity to talk with Walter numerous times while fishing the Cliffwood beach area for early spring Stripers. These little talks happened every spring same time of year for the past 15 years. He was a wealth of knowledge. Because of this man I caught my first Lake Trout on his secret bait, willing to share via PM, well maybe if your nice. I saw Walter and his buddies pulling worms at low tide one day over at Cliffwood and wasn't sure what the hell they were doing so I asked and Walter proceeded to show me how to pull my own Tapeworms for fresh Striper bait. Great man to talk to and a great fishermen. Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure Walter held a few freshwater fishing records at one time or another. Possibly the state record Walleye, Lake and Brown Trout. This man also gave me tips on how to jig for Walleye. Thank you Walter! Because of you I've landed countless Walleye, Lake Trout and Stripers. You were always a pleasure to talk to even with that deep heavy German accent. What a guy! That's all I can say about one of NJ's best fishermen!!! TIGHT LINEZ! RIP Walter! Thanks for everything!
