Default SR Hybrids ?

True they stopped stocking them? There are no details on a 2014 stocking that I could find, any chance it will resume in the future.

I sure hope not !!!!!
If that IS the case that fisherie will be nearly done in a matter of five yrs er so...
Too many nice fish are taken out of there on a yearly basis..I think thats why they tend to max out at about 25-26 inches...The biggest i've seen and caught are 27 and 28":ers prob 4-5 yrs ago, whereas they commonly get larger at LH , culver and the squan.....The continuous stocking program is the only thing keeping the pops replenished.....Would love to see them introduced into MC....I think they would flourish like everything else there.....

Anyway i hope there is ZERO truth behind a stocking halt

Maybe Fish & Game hasn't updated their website. Or maybe they delayed the stocking until they complete the dam repairs and can refill the reservoir. I'll wait for Mark B. to weigh in.

Bigfishy, Spruce Run will never produce giant fish despite its green fertile water and abundant baitfish. The reservoirs location on Route 78 in suburban New Jersey guarantees it will always receive a tremendous amount of fishing pressure and a high turnover rate of the fish.

As you can see from the threads posted this month, the water company drawing the reservoir down at the end of summer also puts all the fish within easy reach of the throngs of shore-anglers.

Despite the massive fishing pressure, high harvest rates, and water drawn-downs, it still produces fish thanks to those good people at the Division of Fish and Wildlife. Without their constant stocking, that reservoir would probably be reduced to sunnies and bullheads within a few years.

Been catching plenty of 10-15" hybrids over the past week or so. Seems like its still healthy population. Stockings look like 3-4" little guys, hopefully NJ keeps them coming. Fun to catch any size...

They normally don't post the annual stocking report until the beginning of the following year so I wouldn't expect to find one yet. To the best of my knowledge, wiper production and stocking hasn't changed.

Where did you hear that it has been stopped?

Yeah, wasnt sure - figured w/o a current update it was skipped this season.

Went out late last night near boat launch, 1 small hybrid 14" - 1 nice channel 26+". Beautiful night, lake was very quiet.
