Default Smallmouth on the Big D

Hit the big D, just north of Bulls Island with the boat. Water is super clear. Managed a few smallies with the biggest around 18". White spinner baits and crayfish plugs were doing the trick. If I remember correctly, water temp was 59. Had three smallies following one in as I was reeling it in and they were all trying to get at the crayfish plug. Pretty cool to watch in clear water.

Love fishing the Delaware & haven't during fall in ages. It must be real nice w/the clear water; that's when I best like to fish it. Walleye might be good come Nov. I know a contingent of guys catches smallmouths--larger--right on through winter, if no ice. You can put a tube jig on bottom, 38 degree water, dead stick letting slow current move plastic tentacles.... Have to say crankbait action now seems more appealing.

.

That's great.
It's amazing how clear the water is now. Even after today's rain the water is still quite low.
