Default Rv..lil fatty bow

Went to rv for a few hrs from shore w/a zack.. set out the usual top secret trout baits.. shinners n p bait.. SET out a pole lookin for welsh catfish.. pretty sure they dont have em but thats what i was after.. sum lil bass n sum bumps on p bait n then i got this piggy rainbow 3 lb 4oz..19in.. with all r poles out it took........PEANUT BUNKER!!!! Nice suprise when i saw that pink stripe.. peanut bunker w/a 25lb fluro leader kinda goes against everything i know 4 rv..

Fished the river last night and a group of kids fishing from shore told me they caught a "6lb pike" on chicken liver on the bottom tied to a rope lol. Expect the unexpected I guess lol.

Hate to disagree, but the best eating freshwater fish caught in NJ is the Yellow Perch..caught thru the ice.
Here's one of about 20 I took home a few years ago from Lake Hopatcong

and for the record, take a late fall/winter walleye and throw it in the oven w a orange marmalade sauce recipe thats popular up north and avail on the web, and you wont believe how good it is, and I hate anything orange BTW
