Miss Belmar - weekend wrap up
Friday night, we fished southeast of the Shark River inlet. Fishing started out slow but got better as the night went on. It was not slaughter fishing but we managed a
good catch with everyone catching fish. Scott McCaw from Langhorne, PA won the pool with a 12 pound blue. Saturday morning, we fished north of our inlet. Fishing was slow and the ocean was very rough. We picked away and caught some blues up to 15 lbs on bait. It was a tough day. Saturday night, we fished southeast of the inlet again. It was very picky all night. We had some good shots of fish and there were times we had none. The people who worked hard caught plenty. Kris Gelsinger from Leesport, PA won the pool with an 11 lb blue. Sunday morning, we fished southeast on the edge of the mud hole. Fishing was good and we caught 8-16 lb blues on jigs and bait with jigs working best. This morning, we continued to have good fishing out east. We picked away in the morning and as the day went on it got better and better. We held 2-4 on the rest of the day with up to 7 on at times. We caught nice big blues again up to 15 lbs.
