Used to be able to from the then-public beach but as Seth said, no more . My PB Walleye came from my kayak on Xmas Eve a few years ago launching from the north end. All the marinas were closed for the year, so we were literally the only ones on the lake.

Local marinas won't allow kayak launching due to "insurance purposes". Total BS, especially now that the park is off limits. Sucks for ice fishermen too.

If anyone knows a spot or marina that allows it, please PM me!

That's a shame. It says there are day passes available, but I guess they're only for the village residents.

I guess that's just another sign of the times. As a society's wealth gap increases, the general access to water and woods decreases. It's how rich people respond to the prospect of having to share resources with poorer people.

You'll see this a lot in other countries. Hell, you'll see that a lot here. Next time you're in the Florida Keys, try walking around and fishing the shorelines and canals. You'll end up in the back of a Monroe County police car - if you don't get shot first by a panicked beach-house owner.

I kind of hope it is. I have a three-acre pond by my house in Long Hill Township that I am verboten to fish because it's on property owned by the Clover Hill development.

public parks (township property, county property, etc) cannot be closed to non-residents in NJ. private property is a different story, they can do whatever they want.

The biggest problem is parking your car and worst if you have a trailer. Theres lots of places to sneak onto GWL but where to park is another story
