![]() It's funny but with what is starting out as a very slow season with our average overnighters only producing 2-4 yellowfin a trip and one mako at night we've already seen more positive testimonials from our charters this year than all of last year when at this point we already caught 30 big-eyes and 1000 yellowfin. I guess the fact is we are just working so much harder to put together anything this year versus last year when it was basically a slam dunk is making folks realize this isn't that easy!
Anyway - it has been a slow few weeks for us - we've now run about 30 overnighters and have spent the last few weeks in the Hudson with only very slow trips except for 18 last Saturday inshore of the Carteret that we were just lucky enough to stumble upon. But yesterday we slipped in a long day trolling trip in nice weather that was supposed to be an overnigher that got cut short due to the weather coming up yesterday afternoon. The Phil Tobin charter trolled the Hudson with Capt. Dean Lambros and picked away at very nice yellowfin all day going 8 for 9 on fish from 40-70 pounds adding a 45 pound wahoo and a 180 pound mako (caught on the troll). Canyon Runner Spreader Bars and Joe Shute's with ballyhoo were the hot lures. Looks like we'll be at the dock again until Thursday - was a nice start with weather but last 8 days have been tough.
