Default Sharkbite II Sunday fluking

Broke the SRI Inlet @ 06:00 and decided to head North to continue to plot for upcoming tournaments but knew that stronger S winds were coming for the day. Headed to where we wanted to be and set up for some nice drifts. Landed a bunch of short Fluke to start with quite a few of last year's models just missing the mark. Set up on same drift I lift up and feel a nice fish on crank him up and net a @ 4lber to start the day on a pink/white 4/0 Sharkbite teaser tipped with squid. More shorts and re-drift. Kenny the Fluke Slayer hooks up and gets another quality fish in the 5lb range. More shorts and another drift. PUGS, pictured here gets hit and clearly we could see a nice fish was there as his rod was bent over. A nice fight to the top and in the net goes a 9lb fish in the pic. Another drift and a smaller keeper amongst the pick of shorts. Decide to start moving south as winds were picking up. Hit the Red Church area and caught and released another couple dozen shorts but no keeps there. Called it a day with still a nice ride back. Back at it next weekend for more tourney practice weather permitting.

Hey Mike.... was out at 6am on a charter from Highlands yesterday... fished off of Monmouth Beach to Sea Bright... finished with 14 keepers... it was nice for a change to head home North with S wind....

Good job Mike. We got a late start and had a few keepers down the Sea Bright way but once the wind switched to due south the drift got too fast and lumpy. We ended the day with 3 keepers.
