Default West Point, NY

Just got back from a cool trip fishing West Point private lakes. The lake we fished was Poplopen lake. My friend John is former military and was kind enough to invite me to fish. We left at 5 and he took me on a tour of West Point, which is amazing!! We were in no rush, so we had some breakfast and hit the water at about 930. Overall, We got 11 bass and 2 Pickeral between us in 5 hours. Some Fish were caught on zara spooks all day, which was fun, while the others were caught on soft plastics. Third cast of the day was my biggest bass of the year, weighed on my new scale, 3lb 2oz. We lost two nice fish in the weeds! We were the only two people fishing the entire lake and we got to watch cadets train and listen to artillery in the background. John and I had a great time together and we are looking forward to the next time we go.

I've fished them a few times since my father is retired military and has access. Fun lakes, fairly untouched.
