FISH TANK - Weekend Recap
First and foremost, Happy Father's Day to everyone! We have been sea bass fishing for the past 2 days and the action has been very good.
On Sat, Capt. Tommy and I hosted an open boat crew with Henry, John, Ed, Ed's friend Mark, our new friend Sam and what should've been our long time regular, Scott (but apparently his alarm clock is on the fritz) Anyways, we broke the inlet and were greeted to the same big heave we have had all spring. The good news is that it did not stop the fish from chewing. The first spot was drop and reel sea bass, but the keeper ratio wasn't exactly what we wanted so we made our way up north and spent the rest of the day bailing away at some nice size sea bass and ling. Henry aka "Jigemup" came up with a beautiful 5lb fluke he caught on a jig head tipped with gulp. All the guys had a great time and went home with big bags of meat for the fridge. Today, Capt. Tommy and Capt. Ed had the boat out with a fairly inexperienced crew. They certainly made the best of it despite the conditions and had some really good fishing to report. Pretty much the same results as yesterday with some guys having their limit of sea bass and some ling and some coming close, but the best part was that Capt. Tommy was only wearing a T-shirt out there and they also managed to get a really big porgy on board. If that doesn't tell you the water isn't warming up, I don't know what does! The bite is on and now is the time to get in on it before "The Man" lowers the bag limit to 3 fish at the end of the month. We have 2 spots left on this Tuesday's open boat trip and we are still working on filling up Fri and Sat so please call us if you would like to get in on some of this great bottomfishing action. Tight Lines! ~Capt. Kevin P.S. I know I promised better pictures on our next report, but with the way the fishing has been, it's not as easy as it seems to drop everything and snap some pics. We are able to take much better pictures on the slower days so hopefully that tells you something

All fish love jigs and teasers, especially those fat flat ones.
