Default Hopatcong night bite

Is it still going strong? I was thinking about heading up there Friday night, but it's an almost 2 hr drive.

anyplace that has herring in it has a night bite, which is most of the big waters of NJ. spruce run, greenwood, etc. This time of the year the fish are feeding almost exclusively at night on herring, they are spawning and they do so at the surface of the water by splashing in circles. This is where they get eaten and certain fish explode on them, others just slurp them in
